Appointment of Prof. Dr. Peter Müller

Jun.-Prof. Dr. Peter Müller was appointed to a tenured professorship by the president, effective April 1, 2026. At the same time, the title of the professorship will change to Functional Plant Ecology.

Prof. Müller joined the department in January 2025 and assumed the junior professorship in Biodiversity and Plant Ecology. His outstanding scientific achievements earned him an external offer for a tenured professorship even before his mid-career evaluation; this offer was declined following internal negotiations. The department is very pleased to continue working with him.
