Lecture: Environmental Peacebuilding - Umwelt und Frieden zusammendenken

"What kind of a UN does it need to make peace?" was the topic of this year's UN Lecture Series at TU Dresden, where Rebecca Froese spoke on June 1st on the topic of Environmental Peacebuilding at the invitation of the United Nations University Group.

The presentation began with a brief overview of the various frameworks that the United Nations is using to address the multiple crises of the Antropocene - climate change, biodiversity loss, soil erosion, and social inequality. Rebecca Froese then contrasted the climate-conflict nexus with the climate-peace nexus before discussing the specifics of environmental peacebuilding using the example of forest conservation.
