Does Forest Conservation Lead to Conflict or Does it Strengthen Peace?

On February 4, 2022, Rowan Aluisola, Rebecca Froese, and Janpeter Schilling presented their research findings on the REDD+ forest conservation program at the International Environmental Peacebuilding Conference.

In particular, they addressed the question of the extent to which forest conservation projects can lead to conflict with local communities or be an opportunity for peacebuilding.
