PRODIGY

Soil biodiversity governing tipping points in the Amazon

The main interest of the project is to understand whether higher diversity within systems, ranging from soil health to economic and social aspects, increases their resilience in the western Amazon basin. The project aims to describe the complex interdependencies by identifying the respective tipping points of the system's intrinsic functions. Together with local stakeholders, PRODIGY will help to develop sustainable options for future decisions that avoid crossing system-relevant tipping points and secure livelihoods in a (climatically) changing world.
