GAME-Meeting 2026 in Landau!
We are glad to officially announce the upcoming 27th ERME Thematic Conference on Game-Based and Playful Approaches in Mathematics Education (GAME II). The conference will take place from 23 to 25 September 2026 at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau in Landau, Germany.
The use of games in mathematics education has long been established and is recommended by experts and in various national curricula, especially in the early school years. Although research in this area is still relatively young, it has had a strong momentum in the past ten years, particularly through digital technologies and new forms of play (e.g. role-playing games, LARP, new generation boardgames, escape games).
The GAME conference sees itself as a forum for researchers in mathematics education who work on playful and game-based learning approaches. The aim is to discuss theoretical foundations, pool key findings, highlight current research priorities and exchange new empirical results internationally. In view of the limited international activities in this area to date, the conference also aims to promote cross-border exchange and the development of research collaborations. Informal opportunities for professional and personal exchange are also planned for this purpose.
